You will:
- Increase your awareness of the area of pharmaco-vigilance through monitoring
- Learn how to evaluate drugs through assessment of medications administered
- Be able to detect early potential adverse events.
Outline of Study Day
- Physiology of pain – what happens to the body in pain, how to identify and interpret pain
- Basic pharmacology to understand how drugs are dispersed in the body
- Why specific groups of drugs are used in what situations and the practical application of the following drugs
- Methadone
- Oxycodone/Morphine
- Clonidine
- Tramadol
- Antihypertensives
- NSAIDs/Panadol
